Ok so I just won tickets to the SC vs UT college football game. This is a fantastic oppurtunity for me to take some photos- they were company tickets so the seats ROCK!!

Anyway my question is the longest lens I have is my Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS
Will this work or do I need to rent a lens?

If so what am I looking for when I rent one? This is just oging to be for me, not for a "business" and Im just looking to have a little fun. I dont have tons of money so I cant spend tons of money renting equipment. Which is why Im asking.

If the game is during daytime, I think the 55-250 will do just fine. At night it will be marginal, but you can probably get acceptable shots with the right settings. You'll likely have to crank up the ISO at night. Depends on what kind of image quality you will expect.

Its at 330 in the afternoon-- its in October so Im sure it will be cloudy and grey as always but at least lit up. The stadium is lit up like crazy too.

See how much it would cost to rent a 100-400. I would use that lens in a heartbeat. I take mine to get pics at the Phillies games. Your lens will get some good, not great images. I did own the 55-250 for a short time before I returned it. The 100 - 400 is just sharper.
