I was eating lunch at a local farm earlier today and noticed a pair of Swallows buzzing around our heads, after a number of fly pasts i saw the reason for their persistent aerial display directly above us.

Just thought i would share the moment as it is not something i come across every day... thankfully i packed the camera.

Was this an African or European swallow?

I will hazard a guess and say European but thats all it is is. My knowledge only extends to naming the general specie and even then i have to google to check i have the right bird.

Quick check of google confirms European :)

European swallows tweet with a distinct accent, often German. Most African swallows don't use Twitter at all.
