Anyone knows how renfe.com works? I am trying to buy tickets from Madrid to Barcelona and there seems to be only Return tickets there. Don't they have one-way tickets in Spain?

https://venta.renfe.com/vol/index.do

You can choose between ida y vuelta (return ticket) and ida (one way)

Thanks. I did that but when I get the prices in English version it tells me:
"We wish to inform you that you have selected an OPEN RETURN journey"

I have assumed that means that the price includes return journey, and not just a single trip. Has the meaning been confused in translation?

There's a box when you're choosing the train about an open return:

(*)Marque esta casilla para dejar sin determinar la fecha y tren de vuelta. La formalización de la vuelta debe realizarse dentro del plazo desde la fecha del viaje de ida.

You can see this in Spanish. Maybe there's that box and it's marked. Check this and tell me if it's ok.

No difference, the price is the same.

You should change in the box 'Available Rates and Discounts' - 'adulto' with 'adulto solo ida'.

The problem is that the price is the same.

This very strange...

Ok I have a solution: "We wish to inform you that you have selected an OPEN RETURN journey"

This means that it's a one way ticket because a found it on the net:

There will be a message that says: " We wish to inform you that you have selected an OPEN RETURN journey". This means that you have chosen a one way trip.

The website is this one:

You're welcome :)

Will you go only to Spain or you will visit other European countries? (I'm Italian).

We are going mainly to south western France cycle touring plus 1 week in Spain (and 1 week in UK to visit family). I have been to Italy cycle touring in the past - Umbria and Tuscany, it was a great holiday! (see //www.micquality.com/cycling/cycling_italy/index.htm) The most memorable were Orvieto and Piano Grande (Castelluccio di Norcia). I'd love to go back and take some photos now that I can use the camera a bit better. Abruzzo is not far from Castellucio. Did you take any photos there?
