I use it all the time on the PC, but on the iPad can I use it if I don't have wi-fi connection (I don't have a 3G iPad)? I take it the Google Earth maps will not download, but can I presave locations and recall them later or anything?

I just took mine out in the backyard, away from the wi-fi, and it brought up my saved locations just fine. Do you have an iPhone? When I need to use TPE on the go, I use my iPhone app. Works just fine as long as I have cell phone coverage (which with AT&T can be problematic).

Thanks. I've got an Android phone and they don't have it for that yet. I'm going to try to save some locations before I leave.

I don't know the answer to your question...I use it on my iPhone. If I'm going somewhere with limited 3G I take screen shots before I leave. I believe it will recall the location as long as you have data access...

If you know where you are going to be (or even more or less where you are going to be), you can get the information for that location, and save it. When you get there, if you don't have 3G or wireless, it will still give you sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset, and will track the sun and moon location in the sky.
