Shooting a vow renewal for a family member, smallish intimate affair. Outdoor pictures after the ceremony around 5-6pm (ew lighting?)
I have a 40D, 50mm 1.4, 10-22, 70-200 2.8 IS...and a 430EX speedlite. And also a Canon EOS 620 and a borrowed Rebel Ti both of which are film cameras. I'm planning on sticking some interesting films in both (like B&W in one, color in the other) just for kicks and hopefully come up with something fun there.
The 5D Mk 2 is on the definite list for renting. The lenses (probably picking 2), I'm torn over.
--14mm or 16-35mm: You can't get wider than 14mm on a full frame, and that would be fun (i'm also going to play tourist around Seattle so it's not just wedding type stuff). But that's a little redundant because I have the 10-22--draw back is that it only goes on the 40D, and I'd really like to play with a wide on the film cameras too. If I only had the 5dmk2, and no film cameras, I'd be happy enough with the 10-22 on the 40d and letting it be.
--24-70mm: I like the versatility... on the full frames, 24mm is fairly wide, and 70mm is close enough for standard portraits, but I already have a 50mm, so there's more redundancy.
--135mm f/2: So I have just one thing in mind for it, and it's the bridal portrait. Obviously, doubling up the focal length with my very nice telephoto which is also nice and wide, but not THAT wide.
--other items? 580ex I think I can borrow from a family member, but it's not too expensive to add on for rental either.
I think possibly cost is going to curtail many of my dreams here... but... right now the window shopping is really fun. haha.
Oh--and I have already thought about the amount of fumbling around I'd be doing with 3 cameras, muchless 4...so that's probably going to be just a bit ridiculous. I'm kind of planning on shooting a roll or two of film on each camera, pictures being took here and there, with the cameras sitting in the bag or near it, while I'm physically attached to the digitals. If anyone has any good tips on how to deal with it... that would be appreciated. |
