We've not had a TV since 1997. I wouldn't even know what to buy if we wanted to get one now.

We watch a lot of dvds and the kids watch some online as well. Doesn't stop them from begging for a TV, but so far, we've not given in.

TV free house here. Mostly internet surfing. What i like to do is plug my laptop into a small projector i have and project DPC all over the living room walls. It looks great, although whilst my young daughter loves all your pretty patterns and pictures, my wife has threatened to leave me.

Nah, not really. But no tv. We do watch some telly on my laptop-mostly using UK's BBC iPlayer and i have a load of films and shows that i digitised years ago before i sold all the dvds. The toddler likes to watch her childrens shows. We are having trouble at the moment as she has already knocked my macbook onto the floor from the chair a couple of times, and it is smeared with banana and gunk (which may account for my editing as i do all my photos on it as well).

I thought so too, but when the raging masses realized that they could still watch their shows and more on Hulu+, they were more than happy.

I had one of those "introductory" packages for cable... when the price went up, I dumped everything but the HS internet and signed up for Netflix and Hulu+. The cable alone would have been $100+/month.

Now I pay for the internet, which I would get anyway, plus maybe $20/mo for Netflix and Hulu+.

I rarely watched any live sports or broadcast TV anyway, so I don't feel like I'm missing anything.
