I'm headed to my week long family reunion at Orlando Beach on Friday and I'm in charge of dinner on Wednesday night. Last reunion I posted this request here and thanks to JulietNN , I made a very successful chicken leg meal. :)
This time I know what I'm making but I'm having a hard time with what marinade to use what sides and drinks to consider. I'm obviously looking for cheap ideas because I'm needing to feed 30 people.
As of right now I'm considering shish-kabobs with ham, pineapple, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, and perhaps somehow bacon now that I think about it while I'm hungry, lol. I normally use teriyaki sweet and sour sauce for a marinade but yesterday I had had a grilled mushroom skewer at a restaurant and the waitress said it was some kind of Italian dressing with salt and pepper. I'm open to any suggestions on marinade.
I'd also like some ideas for a side. Preferable something as finger friendly as shish-kabobs. Drinks too!

Swap out your ham to Chicken and use this marinade.
I'm not sure what I'd use on Ham but on Chicken this works great.

Ham is a very bad idea on shish kebab anyway, it dries out something awful. Chicken is better, or a fattier cut of pork like shoulder/butt, cut into chunks. Best teriyaki-style marinade I know, by FAR, is called "Soy Vay", and you can find it in lots of markets. Just killer outstanding good product. I use the "very teriyaki" one the most. It works very well on beef also.
