Don't forget there is more in the Keys than just Key West! Have fun!

I went to Key West once and had a blast. Found a small bar towards the center of town and decided to go in. Old guy behind the bar wound up being very friendly and gave us a map and proceeded to circle the cool places to go in his opinion. He was right.

He also made me the best drink I've ever had to date. It was called a Pain Killer. I think it's more common in the Keys but I never heard of it and to this day cannot match the quality of that drink in my own kitchen. He also had a "special" recipe drink that sat at the bar. He only made it once a year and had a bunch of crap in. looked like twigs and berries LOL. I think the twigs were cinnamon or nutmeg of some sort. Talk about a knock ya down drink.

Have Fun.

best drink i had in key west was the grain train - sold at the flying monkeys, a delicious frozen mix of 3 grain alcohols.

last trip we stayed on stock island and rode bikes into town each day. made taking pix tough. staying at the artist house this time looking forward to more photo ops.

The Pain Killer originated in the British Virgin Islands at a bar called the Soggy Dollar on Jost van Dyke. Here's a link to their recipe. We had a drink there last summer about exactly this time :-)

There are many variations of this drink online, however.

Just a thought... The abandoned buildings challenge would work well for that abandoned stretch of bridge... :) Quite an attractive object I think, with all of that corrosion and such..

i didn't even think of that cory great idea, there are lots of abandoned buildings down there. not sure the "old" 7 mile bridge would work as a building though :)
