I was looking through Vivian Maier's street photography, and there's a section on self portraits. The majority of which are reflections taken with an old camera -- I don't know if it's a 2 1/4, I don't know old cameras that well.

Anyway the self reflection shots are quite cool and different, and certainly can be done with an SLR just pointing a little differently. Either set it on a tripod someplace, or hold it and tilt it. Either way, I think a "self reflection" challenge could be fun.

Here's a link to one of them -- you can then browse the self portrait portfolio.

I've just come from looking at those pics. Great stuff, and would make a great challenge too. The self shadows were interesting too, and could be an alternative for the shy.

reflections and shadows might be good... maybe specify that the self-reflection must be with something other than a mirror

Most interesting. Thanks.

I like the idea of the challenge, and I would enter. As for the link, I find her shots to be quite pedestrian and the type of shot that all photographers seem to do in the early stages of learning.
