I've gotten canvases from Canvas on Demand before, but now I see that Costco does canvases as well, and their standard pricing is lower.
Has anyone ever gotten a canvas done by Costco? And your opinion?

Plan to, haven't yet. Been happy with everything else from them though.
At the store I usually go to they always have between 6-12 examples on display, using stock pictures you can order through their gallery (I think they're sourced from Getty Images) -- it is probably worth a trip there to check them out in person. I'm pretty sure if you don't like the result they'll give you a refund (like with all their other products) -- don't see you have much to lose if that's indeed the case. |

I have tried a couple of other canvas companies that had groupons - CanvasPop and CanvasLifestyle. I was not impressed with either. My biggest issue is that both of those companies canvas prints come with a glossy finish while CanvasOnDemand has a wonderful matte. I truly hate the glossy finish. I would be interested in hearing a Costco experience. So far I have not found anyone worth going to that offers better value per dollar than CoD. |

With all you folks touting their work they are probably near capacity without having to offer discounts. |

I think their focus has been with groupon. I don't think there are many weeks that go by without being able to find one somewhere in some city on groupon. What is funny is that when CoD was first touted here at DPC they never did any kind of sales promos. Then they were sending them out almost constantly. And now nuttin'. |

I've done a couple of Costco canvasses and been pretty happy with them. Not particularly shiny to my eye; my only comparison is COD and I think the finish was similar. I had a harder time figuring out where the gallery wrap was going to crop on a dark background with Costco's online ordering, but overall I was quite happy, especially given their prices. They have it done elsewhere and ship to your house or a warehouse of your choice so it's possible they only have one production place, but I've not really looked into that. You might want to start with a small canvas and see what you think before springing for a huge one. Just because I was happy doesn't mean you would be ;-) |

Costco had a $10 off coupon for canvases a few months ago so I ordered a 14" square size which ended up costing about $25. The finish is glossier than COD's canvases and the frame is 1.5" deep instead of 2" on the COD canvases. Costco did a nice job and for the price I can't complain but I do prefer the matte finish and the extra service I received from COD. You can get custom sizes with COD and you can call them if you have any questions. I wanted the right 2" of my last COD image to be mirrored so as not to cut off a tree in my picture and all I had to do was write thaoe instructions on the on-line order form and they did it with no problem. Their 16x24 was only $9 more using the Groupon but they may upsize it for free if you call and tell them your image is a little too big for the 16x20. I'm a very satisfied COD customer and highly recommend them!
Here's a Groupon that is good for 2 more days if you're interested in a 16x20 canvas for $45.
PS: You can apply the $127 value to any size you want and maybe even to more than one canvas - just call them.
