Whats the scoop on Graphic Material? nothing nude...
Thinking more along the lines of Guns, Drugs, Knifes, etc... things of that nature. Depression, Death, Suicide...
Legal or No? I want to make sure so I dont get into any trouble :)

Thats what I am thinking, even though a disturbing picture shouldnt be hated on just because it is disturbing, if its a worthy picture I would surely rate it high. Somehow I do not think others think the same way.

Please start by carefully reading the Site Terms of Use -- I think most of your questions will be answered there. Also read the specific rule set for the challenge you are entering, as there is more than one set we use for the challenges.
Any photos which promote illegal or hateful activity are subject to disqualification. Some artistic interpretation of these topics has been allowed however ... if you decide to walk close to the edge you should expect to fall over now and then ... : ) |

**shrug** -- they also say: "4.2 ... (viii) encourages or depicts the use of drugs, alcohol or cigarettes ...", but I counted over a dozen violations in the "Advertisements Revisted" challenge before I stopped counting ... less than half-way thru. An advertisement, by definition, encourages the use of what it is advertising.
Rules are worse than worthless if they are not enforced.

Well, that "rule" is a particular problem because it was put in by an attorney, not the site owners :)
Ultimately, they have the responsibility and say-so over which photos cross the line ...
An advertisement can depict alcohol or tobacco or drug in a negative light (there are many public services announcements which do so) for the purpose of discouraging their use. |
