Ha....After getting my D700 I felt I could keep my D90 as a backup. Not being a total pro and currently doing photography portraits "once in a while", I just wasn't using my D90 at all. I felt that it would sit and rot before I really needed it in the field as a backup to a malfunctioning D700. D90 goes on ebay this week.

So...I thought...what would I do with D90 money? Buy a Canon G12 of course. I needed a new full feature p&s for carrying in the car, to the pool, to work, the park, 4th of July etc...

So I got it and started fooling with it yesterday. I couldn't wait to try out the special features. Here is one of the built in tilt shift and one of the "stitch assist" feature to put together a panorama. The panorama is a 4 shot hand held with the help of the stitch assist feature.

Please forgive all the "bad" aspects of these shots....I haven't learned the "basic" features yet...LOL.

Thanks for posting! Nice images. The Miniature effect could use more feathering though ΓΆ€“ can you control that?

There are all kinds of controls...I haven't figured all out yet. I'll post more "regular" pics as I have time to actually use the cam!

Also....it has a miniature movie feature. Look up G12 miniature on youtube...pretty cool.

You'll love that G12. I bought a G11 earlier this year. It's nice to have a good camera that I can keep in my briefcase, or easily carry cycling with me. Though I bought it as a "lesser" camera that I could keep with me at all times, I've found it excels in some areas my DSLR is short in. It has a great macro mode without having to buy new lenses, the lens is small enough to fit between the openings of a chain link fence. Oh, and it fits inside a copier.

Gotta love the G series Canons.

My first digicam was a G5...now I have a G7. I've gotten many, many miles out of it. I'm thinking about an S95 as a replacement/upgrade since it has the same sensor, similar controls/modes and is significantly smaller.

Thanks.....just finding that the vid is excellent. Much better control than the d90

A couple of snapshots from today. My dog Sugar stalking a lizard and the tree next door catching some sun.

This one was from Sunday at the lake.
