Most cameras can capture in/convert to sepia on the fly ... this is a case where there are many stages at which you can make the conversion, and many methods with varying degrees of control. Presumably, one of the reasons for running a challenge like this is to encourage you to explore different styles and techniques than those with which you are most familiar.

My entry is in, and I used the RAW file. But I processed (and converted) it a couple of different ways before deciding which sepia tone and method to use.

I sent my image. I was not sure about my choice, but now I'm in. The voters will tell me if I was wrong.

I enjoyed trying out some of the techniques mentioned in this thread. Mission accomplished from that point of view. Then I chose the wrong shot and did the wrong things...
But I'm an older and wiser man...

I got one... But I personally don't like it being that sepia is not my favorite type of edit... I need someone to say "yay or nay" to even enter it... Help?

Try different sepia toning techniques. Different images need very different techniques to make them look nice. For instance, sometimes the full power of a sepia filter will do well, while other time your need to tone it down and let the colors from the image bleed through just a bit.

My entry cracks me up.. Dunno why but it's slightly kooky. Anyway in my edit I didn't even convert to b/w before applying sepia filter (my main subject is brown so you can't tell).. sepia is really hard to turn into a pleasing image so fingers crossed.
