Not voting tonight, mainly because I'm in bed and on my phone, but a quick glance at the entries showed me some great shots! I'm shocked so many of you are getting lower scores... But that's just the nature of things. Either way, hopefully I can bump up your scores some more tomorrow!

Some really solid pictures in this one, this is tough.

At the risk of sounding like a DNMC nazi, there's a whole bunch of shots in this challenge that could very easily have been captured without the use of tripod. Obvious fast shutter speeds and the like. I'm not doubting that the photographers did use a tripod, however the challenge called for photos that 'obviously required a tripod to turn out well'.

An improvement and probably where it should be. Mine is a shot that could not be considered DNMC (and I agree Qiki there are some that are not obviously taken with a tripod), it's just not a good shot which is fair enough.

eta to fix link

Thanks for the comment. I thought mine was an obvious HDR and not many people take HDR handheld. Also, if you looked closer you would see that one element is blurred from movement. But on the positive - this means I made the photo look realistic and I was successful in hiding the blurred element. I am getting better at PP! Fantastic! :)

so obviously you voted the photos down 'cause you thought the photographer didn't use long shutter speed and didn't have movement involved....lol

Ummm... besides showing the tripod in the actual shot, how do you demonstrate obviously that a tripod was used and improved the shot? I mean this shot was taken with a tripod but I doubt it was obvious.

Nice point Phil...I think we are in agreement that to take some digital photos...it is better to use a tripod...WAIT!...sometimes I use a beanbag... a stack of books, using a remote shutter release... man obviously..there is no way to be 100% sure someone did not use a tripod...and OBVIOUSLY I have to rethink even hand holding any camera as I like to toss a few down while I shoot...lol

Well that's what the challenge was all about, wasn't it? I'm sure lots of us use tripods for lots of entries, but the whole point of this challenge was to make it obvious. It's not really that hard.

I'd love to see a challenge calling for photographs of brown dogs. Then I'll enter a picture of white cat (which I'll name something like "Dreaming of being a brown dog") and complain when people comment that it doesn't meet the challenge topic.

I missed my mark on being obvious. I thought it was a fine photo though.
