| I've ticked the box in my profile to not show nude photos but some of them are appearing when I go to "Browse" -- how can this be turned off for all shots? I do get the "Hidden" gray thumbnail on some but not others? Any help would be appreciated :) |

it's probably because the ones you are seeing - the photographer hasn't catagorized the shot as a 'nude' - so the filter isn't picking them up.

Basically, there is no way for the system to detect that an image contains nudity -- thumbnails are hidden when a Site Council members stumbles across the shot and finds it contains nudity. Challenge entries are almost always covered by the time voting ends on that challenge, but portfolio entries are a bit more hit-or-miss. As such I would recommend using browse only in a place where it will not cause you trouble if the occasional nude thumbnail shows up.

Thanks soup and clubjuggle... family viewing of browse is now a "no-no"
I'd encourage folk to ask "would I want my child to see this image?" and put the shot in "nude" category even if it's not "technically" nude but suggestive. Thanks to those that do :) |

| All throught human history in warm climates, humans went nude all the time. Women used to breast feed in the open. |

| why is it ok to see women in bikinis in beaches but it is not ok to see them in their underwear and bra in everyday life???? i ponder.. hmmm |

| should we make family friendly beaches? only 18 and up allowed because there are women in bikinis there... i am sure no parent would want their kid to see other women in their underfittings... |

Speaking of breastfeeding, I and many others that I know, have breastfed in the open. It is coming back, if not in a more discreet way.

Not following the catagories would eliminate the usefulness of having catagories in the first place.
If you wish to place more restrictions upon yourself and your family than were present when you came out of the womb, that is your right. But it is also your responsibility to enforce those additional restrictions in your environment. But please do not expect others to go out of their way, or try to force them to do so; it will only cause hard feelings in the end. :(
