Hello,

Can anyone clear up the rules a bit?

On the photo below you see a "saturn" like planet. This is surely existing art or a very good computer drawing...either way, I have a question.

If I have some art in my house and I want to use a portion in my expert challenge...can I simply take a photo of it and use it that way?

What if I find a free domain picture of an Apple....can I take a picture of that and use it?

I ask because several of the entries from the last expert challenge and obvious cutouts of art...rockets...planets...etc.

I have some ideas for the country music challenge and what to see what is usable !

Thanks

Are you referring to this entry of mine?

If so, the planet, its ring, and the entire starfield were created in Photoshop from scratch ... all with the tools that Photoshop offers and nothing else. No pre-existing artwork or photographs were used in the sky part. Only the bottom portion of the image are actual photographs (2 of them).

Thanks! But I guess I didn't impress all those 1,2,3 voters though!

Nice work....so I would have to create anything unless it was my photo...

Btw...I gave you a 9.

No wonder I'm confused after reading my thread.... I was working on a Country Music entry and was about to draw a SWEET **object" based on the fact that others have drawn on theirs - but decided to check the rules before I spent an hour on it. I found:

You may NOT:

add graphics or clip art images to your entry or its border during editing

My God...which is it? I have a DQ from "never before seen" and don't want to get another. I'll have to get this cleared up before I do any more work.

Can we draw over our photo or not? Is DRAWING the same as adding graphics? I'm going to open an SC ticket tonight and get the facts ! I'll post what I find.
