At this moment in time Asger Carlsen is my favourite photographer. It is a huge longshot that he will be yours as well but you never know. Maybe 4 or 5 people will agree with me which is fair enough i say.

ROFL! I think it might take a few fingers of scotch for me to acquire... |

Indeed. But as influences go....well, just expect to see Matilda + putty from me in future challenges. Expert or not. |

Well that explains this. Asper Carlsen work (like in your image) transcends, the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. It's certainly bizarre but at least it does that. Many of the setup photographers here should take notes. |

Clive...just so you know...I'm looking forward with keen fascination to your whole family album. (Don't forget the hedgehog)! |

Ha. Well, i already borrowed Matilda's eyes, for this image, . She has them back now after i'd disinfected them.
As to Carlsen. Definitely not for everyone. I came across him in a feature in the British Journal of Photography so he's obviously doing well on the gallery circuit. I think a lot of his work is fantastic but not all of it works for me. It's definitely disturbing but there is a lot of humour there as well.

Bizarre indeed. Certainly original. I particularly appreciated the cyclist with the second head watching the rear. I need that feature.

I can appreciate the photography more than the expanding foam in a shadow box (Phony Maloney.)
Really? This is gallery-worthy? |

Yes, i'd agree. The images work far better than the installation pieces although i like the flesh/foam photography a lot more than the more obvious four eyed man ones (apart from the hotel one which is excellent). I'm not too keen on the 'breasts on backside' ones either.

I'd say so, definitely. As well as working on a gut, visceral level they are also full of satirical comments on voyeurism, celebrity-culture, commercialism etc. I'd love to get his book but it's out of print and, as so often is the case, the price has rocketed.

Meh. Amusing, but seems like a bunch of repeating-yourselfs. |

Agreed. They lose impact after the 30th variation on the same theme.
But interesting impact in the beginning. |

Yes, i can see that although i think that often happens when any artist works on a series that is meant to have a consistent theme for a show or book. I think the 'Wrong' and 'Hester' series do mostly work well in this way. Like i said though, some of the 'Wrong' images are a bit too heavy handed for me and i much prefer the more subtle ones that make you do a double take. |

I have to admit I found "wrong" really humorous. Like you Clive, I really enjoyed the ones that were a bit more subtle. |
