So I was looking at the comments section on my profile page and realized that I am starting to seriously lag behind "comments made" compared to "comments received". I think if you get comments you should return the favor and give them.
I used to participate more in side challenges and enjoyed commenting in those. But I haven't had as much time for side challenges lately so my comments are slowing down. Challenges are more intimidating for me I have a hard time commenting in them. But I want to try and do better.
So here is my goal starting with the challenges currently in judging. I am going to at the very least comment on my top five choices during the challenge. That will be easy because it's really easy to think of something nice to say about a photo you love. I also plan on commenting on my 5 that I think had potential, but have something missing in someway that made it not one of my favorites. This way it won't always be the top 10 photos that get all the comments.
Anyway it's not much, but it's a start. I have been very thankful for all the comments I have received, even especially the negative ones.

| surely the op means the difference between comments made and comments RECEIVED. if you want to see a generous ratio, check out the dead guy's. |

| My ratio is 6.67 given to every 1 received, but I still think I need to do more commenting, especially as of late. I must be crazy! :) |

| I'm ahead, but not too well appreciated. It's easy to comment on the one I really like, but I also comment on the one I score low. I think it's only fair to let someone know why I thought the image DNMC or could be improved in certain ways. But I try to find something positive to say for the low scores too. |

I don't have my goals listed in my profile, but one of the goals I try to stick to is to have twice as many "Helpful Comments Made" as I have "Comments Received." That not only keeps me commenting, but it keeps me from leaving short, substanceless comments : ) Not that I think people are leaving substanceless comments, but I was just throwing it out there how I think about comments.
