As of a couple of days ago, my camera (Nikon D5000) is giving me an error when trying to take a picture. It tells me âError: Press shutter release button againâ and then the image that gets recorded has the top part blacked out.
Iâve searched online, and it seems like some people have had this problem with other models. Iâm wondering if anyone has any advice on what I could do to fix it? It doesnât seem anything major and Iâd hate to pay someone hundreds of dollars to fix something really simple.
I think my camera would still be under Nikonâs warranty, but Iâve never known how warranties work and I think they are only valid if you register the item online when you purchase it, no? Either way, I read somewhere that someone sent their under-warranty camera to Nikon, and it took them a MONTH to send it back! Iâd hate to be out of a camera for that longâ¦
Advice? Help? Sympathy?
THANKS! |

From your description, it sounds like the shutter is sticking. Though you would prefer not to, the best thing to do is send it in for repair.

You could always try increasing your skills by entering with whatever cheap POS you've got laying around, or can buy for next to nothing. |
