Wow...the Droid Charge is out and it looks great. 4.3" Super Amoled Plus screen and 4G speed. 8MP rear cam and 1.3 front cam.

I've been using the first droid for about two years and Im not up for a new phone. That 4.3" Amoled is sweet. I've seen some in action. Nothing beats it.

Now...since the Iphone 5 specs are pretty much unknown, should I wait 6 months or so or should I go for the Charge?

What would something like that cost?
Initial purchase?
Monthly charges?

I'm not a fan of the way Apple locks their system down in a walled garden. Of course, that means I have an Android phone. But all that really matters for most folks is if it does what you want it to. Would you get any advantage from the upgrade, or is it simply techno-lust?

The Charge is lightyears ahead of my Moto Droid....screen specs being the biggest plus...have you ever seen a S Amoled? It is very nice. The 4G is in my area so that is a BIG plus. The 8mp cam is way more than my current droid...however, I will have to go see it work in the store first....(my current droid cam is pretty basic).

So this would be a huge jump up for me. My wife and daughter have the Iphone 4 and it is nice. But the screen is not as good and the S Amoleds I've seen on the current Samsung phones.

The phone costs $299.99 with a two-year Verizon contract, which must include a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan and a 4G LTE data package. Nationwide Talk plans begin at $39.99 per month, while unlimited 4G LTE data packages start at $29.99 per month.

Purchase....$300
Monthly charges....$70

It could happen as a number of "experts" have been talking that way of late. However it would likley be two years from now.

once the Mango update comes out.

WP7 now is a pretty solid phone OS. however it lacks some features of the other two.

It doesn't have the cutting edge hardware of the android phones (at least not yet), but in reality it doesn't need all that power, unless you have a premium android phone, wp7 is going to run much more fluidly than android will. the Metro interface is a sweet as it gets.

im not going to bash the other two but don't discount wp7 becuase of its infancy, its definitely worth a look.

I got the Droid Charge 3 days ago, and I must say it is a very polished phone. Even without the 4G it is still faster than most 3G phones do to the advanced processing system. Also, you can connect it to wi-fi areas and make the internet become much faster. I had the iPod Touch, which is basically the same thing as the iPhone, and the Droid Charge can do all the same things as it and more, plus it is 4G. I had never had an Android phone before either, so I am neutral on Android vs. Apple, but I still believe the Droid Charge is superior.

I got my Inspire a few months ago and the 4.5 Super AMOLED Plus screen is pretty nice.

I got mine at Costco who were doing a special where they were selling the phone at the price the customer payed rather than selling it at list and then giving discounts. The difference at 8.75% sales tax between the 60 bucks I payed and the 600 bucks the ATT store was going to calculate sales tax on, was a deal closer for me.
