Question....Do negative comments about the quality of entries in scores threads subconsciously influence voters?

I've dropped .8 since vote 23. I don't know that I've ever dropped that much.
It is what it is, but it's a strange voting pattern. I'd love to know what people's thought processes are when they're voting. It would be an interesting discussion. :) |

I've dropped 1.20 since last night. AND I even had a 10 in there, but the last votes have averaged between 3 and 5 with no comments. WTH!
And now a 7...the voters around here are all over the map with no clue as to why.

After hitting 6.2 today, I thought I was finally coming out of my funk...however, I'm now at 5.7

someone is having fun screwing us over....
after 21 votes I was 7 ( given my PB is 5.8 u can think how happy i was and was dreaming of a ribbon, how naive of me )
now after 53 votes i am sitting at 6.3 , I think top 20 should be realistic .....
never the less I am still happy IF I CAN remain over 6

Sometimes a challenge like this is a lot of fun.
As I started to leave comments, I stopped for a little recapitulation of what seemed to have inspired us (me included).
So, in order of popularity, we have pictures inspired by:
- flowers - 30 total
- animals, birds - 15
- various objects - 17
- people, (kids) - 11
- landscapes - 8
- glasses - only 2.5!
- bulbs - 2
- eggs - 2 but one was counted for people also
I must have left something out, but it's late.
Conclusion: FLOWERS WON in popularity (over glasses, pencils, etc)
Let's see the scores. |

Well I can tell you after reading all of the past 20 or 30 comments, that this is definetely the VERY LAST TIME I POST MY SCORES ON any score thread.
The minute, actually seconds after I posted I had a 7.14 at 7 votes it went down to 6.28 then 6.14, and I was still on 7 votes, if that isn't weird then what is. I'm now sitting on a very average score.
By the way I was asked for a validation on my entry, I gladly submitted, the only thing i did was resize and sharpen.
Langdon you need to get rid of the cheaters on this sight- please,they spoil it for everyone else.

I agree Kat. And considering this is a minimal challenge, the voting seems harsher than one would expect. |

Just a thought...but now is when not having a calibrated monitor would really mess with how a shot would look!! Those are possibly the folks slamming many of us with low votes. Just sayin'...

I suffered the same dramatic dip is my score and I had not posted in this thread. Whatever happened was independent of this thread.

I've been quiet on dpchallenge lately, mostly because my shooting time has been occupied with clients or projects to earn me more clients. Has the site really take a turn towards knocking each other around rather than encouraging and teaching?
