Except that there isn't such a thing called as voting or posting curse. It's a flaw on DPC that allows people to pick out a particular person's entry if they wanted to. I have already contacted langdon to fix this problem but no action has been taken as of now ... never got a reply from him either. DPC entries are not as anonymous as some people might think they are. Unfortunately some trolls take advantage of this feature and it goes in full effect especially in the open challenges (with their multiple dummy accounts).

Too many zeros! Nice and even-looking though isn't it? Wish it would go higher but I don't have a lot of confidence that it will. The way the votes have been going, I'll be lucky to stay above 5!

On a serious note:... I know one can identify the photographer in any given challenge entry with a LITTLE work. However, it makes it easier if they KNOW you are in the challenge. If you post in these threads, they KNOW you are in the challenge and they can start the process.

I won't expose any more details except to say that it CAN be done.

***DISCLAIMER****
I have NEVER used this system to change a vote. In fact, I have NEVER used this system to identify a photographer. Please do not request that I be kicked off.

I'm ready for it to bottom out and start climbing.

At least three DQs already....including at least two due to cropping their entry. The death march begins...

Are you referring to reading EXIF?

Just forum cruising, stumbled upon this section of thread...if this scenario is indeed true, that there is a way to discover who entered a pic and then vote accordingly, then it would seem pointless to remain and continue to participate as a supposedly anonymous photographer.

How do you know that?

There were 99 entries this morning, and the two square crop photos I voted on are gone.

Not quite done with voting, but I'm amazed at the number of entries that don't have a white background or light subject. Many are underexposed and some have the color temperature way off.

I noticed that as well - some folks don't know how to adjust white balance and move from auto mode settings.

Agree, lots without a white background.

Actually there have been 2. The way to check is open the challenge like you're going to vote, look at the challenge title, there's a little piece of paper looking thingy at the end of the title. Click that and it will give you the on going stats.

But are you not assuming that a square crop involves cropping? Some cameras have variable ratio options.

I didn't punish those images with a low vote based on my belief that they cropped their images, but I did send a request for validation, as we are expected to when we feel an image does not follow the rules.

And I am unaware that most cameras have square crops straight from the camera. If it is true, that is something new to me.

Not most cameras, just some cameras, and I wasn't questioning your voting strategy at all. Relax.
