I've always assumed that I can't take shots up to rollover because I'm already 14 - 16 hours (depending on daylight saving) into the next day. I want to reshoot my Light on White and it's still about 3 hours till rollover but it's the 20th here, so is it out?

"ensure that your camera date and time are correctly set to your home time zone before shooting your entry. If the date recorded in your original image file is not within the specified challenge dates, your entry will be disqualified - NO exceptions! If your photo was taken in a different location than indicated in your profile, please note the location in the submission form so that we can adjust accordingly."

Yes -- follow the rules that he just stated, and also notice that the challenge says: 3 hours and 26 minutes left
You have 3 hours and 26 minutes left. They take into account the time zone changes. |

What they said. Just look at the challenge and see the time remaining; that's all yours to play with. Play fast!

Thank you everyone. At least the time left is nearly all for shooting as I can't waste any on PP.

Seems if you have to set your camera to your home time zone, then your local time is the restriction for shooting, but you have up until rollover for editing. It's normally only going to be a problem for those whose local time is AHEAD of the server. Am I following?

Nope. If you're in Texas, you can shoot up to 11pm. If you're in England, you can shoot up to 5am. Whatever it the equivalent of midnight here. Everybody can shoot until it's midnight my time -- whatever there time is, as long as there camera is set to their local time, and the SC knows where they're located. (that's my understanding) |

Yo_Spiff 's interpretation was what mine has been. But the other idea is fairer so I hope that is right.

As I'm someone else in a different time zone, I can concur that Wendy's interpretation is correct. Not that I ever shoot that close to the rollover as it's 7.00 am my time, but it is definitely correct.

Don't forget that the server time is at the bottom of each page. |

Okay, I've put an entry in. Not at all what I set out to do, and maybe a bit of a desperation effort.
