If you don't mind a personal question, I would like to know how much income, on average, you've made selling DPC Prints. I tried last year to submit a photo but something went wrong and I never tried again. I'm sure some make more than others but I was just wondering if it's worth it overall.

How much time and how many prints did it take to make that?

It's just a matter of having flashy graphics like this...
Jokes aside, I actually have one of Konador's prints hanging in my house.
I think it's more of a matter of having the eye for capturing what appeals to people than a matter of # of prints available or time. Konador may be too modest to say that himself, but I will speak freely for him, his work is spectacular.
EDIT: K-Rob, I just took a peak at your portfolio and you also have some very impressive photographs. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to sell some prints fairly easily. Do keep in mind that DPCPrints doesn't actively and personly market your work for you. Maybe others have some ideas on how to get more people to see what you have to offer. That's an area where I have personally been negligent (well, that and the limit quantity and quality of prints I have available).

1 sale so far (only recently added a second print for sale),
but...
I am $3.80 richer than I was!
Now to find a way to sell 10,526 more and I can buy the Lexus I have my eye on.
LOL

The down side of DPCPrints is that most of the people that visit the site are from DPChallenge (then again, that's just my assumption). And as a photographer, I would much rather have my own work hanging than someone elses. Of course, there are a few exceptions in my case, but overall, most of my hangings are my own work.

That's why we members of DP Challenge have to work it. When I say work it, I am talking about getting the eyeballs of non-photographers to visit DPCPrints in droves.
If you hand out business cards when you get model releases when out and about, make sure you have DPCPrints advertised on there somewhere, like the back, along with your DPC Name.
If you belong to other webforums, put a link to DPCPrints (At least your own gallery) into your signature. Prints can't sell themselves if they don't have eyeballs... well eyeballing them.
Simple, persistent and innocuous salesmenship is what it will take to increase views and sales at DPCPrints.
I haven't purchased anything off of DPCPrints, not for lack if trying. I just have yet to locate a print that would fit with my home. |

I normally create a print file with every photo I edit, so I can put them on DPC Prints. I have over 100 there now, which I've built up since DPCPrints launched around a year ago I think. Even if you don't think a print will sell, put it up anyway. Someone out there will like it enough to buy it :) A number of my sales are prints which I never thought anyone would buy.
Flashy graphics do help tho :)

Thanks for advice guys. I guess it may be fun to see if someone likes your picture enough to buy a print, but it's significant source of income for anyone.

Total Profit : $164.89, $10 of that is from referrals for other people's prints. I haven't sold any print more than twice (most only once), so I just don't seem to be able to figure out what's a "good seller". :)

Does the site get marketed out at all? What I mean is, is there any advertisements out there letting people know about DPCPrints that are not members of this site.

From my understanding, there is no direct advertisement for DPCPrints. However, the images and keywords are indexed on search engines such as google. Also, several individual photographs do promote DPCPrints.

Has there been any news on what happened with BizRate? DPC was on there for a while and the number of views on one of my prints jumped up to over 200 within a few days (no sales, but at least it was exposure). Wondering if we will be back on there - does anyone know? hoping the answer will be yes:)

Made about $14.81 by selling 6 prints. The majority came of my sales come from this photo:
Still have yet to make a single cent off a referal though.

I have made no sale on the prints site, but one man told me he saw a photo on my website, www.oskarpall.com and he bought it for 150 $ , I would like more deals like that. |

No sales so far or referals which is very disappointing as I have been there 3 days already!
But seriously I'm simply thrilled to be able to offer them for sale even if they are never purchased as I now proudly boast that I'm offically an Artist! lol
EDIT: Can't work out how to get the links into my email signature yet!

We'll get back on there in a few weeks. We pay for clicks on that site, and our funds dropped really low after it was mentioned on the site. It's a pretty safe bet that everyone got excited about seeing themselves there and clicked their links -- costing us all our money ;) |

That's great news - I really didn't click mine 200 times - honest :) okay, a couple maybe, but honestly not 200:) The exciting part is I think that shows that it works. Maybe now if everyone knows not to actually click their photos it will help. Thanks for looking into ways to promote the site - it is appreciated!
