Oooh, thanks. That's not my area of expertise, so now I know who to contact if someone asks for advice on tinfoil hats. :-) |
Basic physics.
If you're going to continue thinking that way you really should learn some new skills. |
If you're going to continue posting, you might want to conduct a search of the scientific references in the subject first -- researchers at MIT pretty much debunked the foil hat method of intellectual protection some six years ago; results posted here.
I guess you'll just have to come up with a new way to insult those with whom you disagree. |

You have an interesting (and warped) view of the country. Some of the people that a photo would potentially inflame already hate us, but the ones in custody of nuclear warheads currently allowing us access to supply routes do not. The fundamentalist zealots willing to be martyred don't have a warhead to smuggle. |
You say country, I say people. My view is of a people. Radical Muslims. Just as you probably view fundamental Christians as lunatics, I see large numbers of radical Muslims as a security risk. My comments are about a people, world-wide. I wasn't speaking of only Pakistan. These people do actually go to Afghanistan to fight our troops. Some estimates indicate that 10,000 fighters come from the tribal areas of Pakistan alone. Some of them come from the United States to fight our troops there. Some of them are members of our military and were in Texas and killed our troops there before they could even travel abroad. The one thing that binds them all together is radical religious beliefs. The distribution of a photo of a man with a hole in his head isn't going to make much difference in the amount of violence directed at the Great Satan. Those whose heads are warped by radical religious beliefs are inflamed by the mere existence of The United States of America.

The Pakis in power don't hate us, they hate India. We give them boatloads of money. Those in power aren't going to unleash their nukes over a picture because the money that lets them keep the population under control and India at bay would go away. The minute we withdraw our support from Pakistan, the balance of power in the region will tip in favor of India (also a nuclear power, in case you hadn't been paying attention) and they will have the upper hand in the dispute over Kashmir, which is Pakistan's real concern.

My second guess is that there were no pro-US marches for the AP to cover.
Why does it seem (at least to me) that all the street demonstrations were Pro-Osama? |
Probably because in the grand scheme of things Obama's policies haven't been all that different from his predecessors. It's only over here where we see differences and that's because we only really care about their domestic policies.

On last night's A Prairie Home Companion "Rush" pointed out a critical flaw in the President's plan of attack: "How do we know he's dead? Where's the autopsy report? If they were going to shoot him in the face, they should have got Dick Cheney to do it." |

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that" Martin Luther King, Jr

Indeed. The fact that we will not submit to their law makes us a target ever more so than a picture of one of their martyrs would do. They want "infidels" dead or in total submission. We must defend ourselves against that agression.
And the MLK quote...whatever, fake or real, the sentiment is correct.
