That type of thinking is exactly the sort of thing we are trying to make "unattractive" by instituting a tangible penalty for being disqualified from a challenge. |

Originally posted by EddyG: One suggestion is to allow 1 "free" DQ per year (to cover honest mistakes) and then after that, penalties would increase (which would negatively affect your average score) for each additonal DQ'd photo. |
Why not just 1 free DQ period, instead of another free one every 12 months? |

I don't want to re-hash the whole SC discussion thread here, but several folks agree and think that is appropriate (1 "free" DQ and that's it), while others like the one/year thing. It is little details like that that make changes take time... =] |

Doesn't is state "Not abiding by these rules may result in disqualification of your submission and possibly a suspension of your account" when you submit a photo?
Isn't suspension of your account a pretty serious penalty? Not that I think all DQ's should have their accounts suspended..but if the SC sees a pattern, I think it might warrant such action.

Thanks to those that commented, and especially to taterbug and geewhy for picking the shot as a favorite. It makes me feel even more strongly that I did the right thing pulling the shot out!
