In honor of 40 years of the EPA - I may be the only one so far that's really excited about this project â€Â¦

But I'm hoping this post of mine will change that. Since DPC has people from all over the country (and planet), I'm hoping for some really nice entries. This is actually a project that will be going on for about a YEAR! So there is no rush -- however, they need some good photos to feature on their web page - and eventually print.

From 1971 to 1977, the Environmental Protection Agency hired freelance photographers to capture images relating to environmental problems, EPA activities, and everyday life in the 1970s. The U.S. National Archives digitized more than 15,000 photographs from the series. 4,000 of those images can be viewed here:

Jeanethe Falvey on my team runs this project. :)
Here's an article that came out today all about it.
I missed this thread initially, but then I spotted Kelli's awesome puzzle macro in the submissions.
It was pretty fun actually recognizing a photo as I was talking to someone and showing them the project.

Hi everyone - it's been far too long since I bumped this, but we're still taking entries, and now we're even pulling out featured photos to put into a physical exhibit that will travel to each of our regional offices.
And the Nat'l Archives will put together an exhibit to be shown in 2013.
So join us! |
