I've been eagerly waiting for this capability seemingly forever!
EyeFi Direct Mode
With this new capability, you can shoot on the EyeFi card and transfer the images directly to a smart phone or iPad.
I've been looking forward to something like this! This means I could shoot football games, transfer selected shots to the phone, crop them with the Droid Photoshop program, and FTP (or e-mail) them without ever leaving the sidelines! It'll make it really slick to take shots with my regular camera and upload them right away to Facebook, too. The possibilities are endless with this. |

Cool ! I have one of the old ones and it works good....at my house ! This new feature will be great !
However, like tanguera said....no CF...meaning it will work with my D90 and not my 700.
edit: wait....it looks like my old eyefi will work with the app.

CF adapters are pretty cheap... I have an older EyeFi card, and never had a problem using it with the CF adapter in my older cameras.
The cool thing about my D300s is that it has both a CF and SD slot, so I can save stuff in raw on the CF, and .jpg on an SD EyeFi card. |
