How old is your brother? Can he go live with one of the uncles?
Regarding the photography -- best thing to do is just compete against yourself. Figure out your average score, and see if you can improve it. I consider a photo a success when I beat my average.
Also, realize that, even if the ones you take by accident are better, you'll learn so much by forcing the issue. Then when the opportunities come your way, you'll know more what to do with them.

At least outside of the shark tank! Yes we have a shark tank. It's on the main page, cleverly disguised as "Challenges open for submission"

Nah, you'll learn from it and get better very quickly. A couple of things that can help jump start the learning: comment on the photos you vote on, especially the ones you give mid-range 4 & 5 votes to. It's easy to figure out why the good ones are good and the sucky ones suck, but you will learn the most from analyzing the mid range ones. Why they are not bad but not great either. You will learn things you can apply to your own photography. The other thing is to get involved with some others for feedback. I've found that blunt but well intentioned feedback on potential entries is one of the strongest learning experiences to be had here. Most people will skip voting on anything they have given feedback on, unless they truly feel they can vote fairly and unbiased.

It's probably a bit unladylike to post a violent rant about drugs and fathers, LOL. Anyone would have come to the same conclusion. |
Seems a personlike rant to me. I don't really know from **** but it also seems like smart behaviour (let it out - tell us about it) :) |

My brother is 16, and fortunately he lives with my mom, who is a wonderful person.. But I'm afraid it's one of those situations where she allows him to do whatever he wants, because she thinks it will make him happy (he is very depressed). He has a job, so that's something..
I've already voted on the challenges, and I did comment some, but my comments were FAR from helpful, lol! I know what I like and what I don't, but it's hard to say exactly what it is that I do or don't like. I do have some experience with photography, but it's basicly stuff I learned in a highschool art class, LOL!
I love how frequently the new challenges come up. I can't wait to enter, or more importantly, to improve somewhat. :)
I like to talk to people about anything and everything. I used to drive my mom insane when I was little. :X |

Understood. Insanity is hereditary, you get it from your kids.

I just sent you a message. Please read it and put it to use.
It isn't much, but I do believe you will like it. :O)

LOL! I wish I could have that as a bumper sticker, it'd make a great mother's day present!
Ray, I do not know where to access my messages or how to read them. D: I am still quite new to the site. I know how to message other people but not how to read my own messages. |
