Is there anyway on the site to set it to notify you when there are new posts in a topic you have set to watch? Also, is there anyway for the site to tell you when someone has replied to a comment you made on a picture, or replied to a comment they made on your picture?

and hello :)

There is a drop-down for thread options up at the top left -- one option is to receive emails when someone replies to the thread.

Thank you, I saw that when I set it to watch thread, but figured it was an either or kind of deal, so I would rather be able to find the threads easier..

Thank you tho!

For the first part of your question GeneralE (Paul) provided the answer. For the second part of your question...click on My Home in the menu bar. Then search for the Site Preferences section under which you will see email preferences where the other options can be set. Not sure if all options are available to registered users, but members can set them all.

Be forewarned...receiving an email everytime someone responds to a thread will quickly inundate you will more emails then you might actually want. The easiest way is to just set the thread topic to watch using the same drop down menu Paul mentioned. Then what I do...a one time setup up is go into the community menu at the menu bar, and select the first option in the drop down box....Forum. When that page loads you will see a button on the top right of the page that says "Watched Threads" click on that. Now you can see when anything is updated. When you are on that page simply bookmark it or do what I do...drag the icon in the address bar down to my Browser links bar so all you have to do in the future is click on it. You might want to rename the link button it creates to something like "Watched Threads" so it's not so long.

Hope this helps...

Dave

Yeah, for now that is an either/or option ...

There is an option in your Preferences to get an email when someone comments on one of your pictures, but not for replies to your comments on someone else's picture.

Oh, and welcome!

PS: There is a link (button) to "Watched Threads" near the bottom of the Home page, on the right under the topic list opposite the Search field.

Thanks for all the info! I guess what brought up the section question was after my first challenge, I forgot to reply to comments people made, so I went back a couple days later to thank them or add more info as .. I just dont know if that was a wasted cause as how would they know I even replied?

Ahh well, I will keep replying to comments anyway!

Thanks again :)

You can send them a PM (personal message) by clicking on their name to go to their Profile page; the PM link is below the bio information.

I usually say something like "Thanks for your comment on my entry -- I've posted a reply" and add a link to or a thumbnail of the relevant picture. Or you can just copy whatever your reply was, and send it to them in the PM directly.
