I wondered if any of you have this product? I don't see any reviews on this site but thought it might be useful to have on camping trips, for example. It's a solar power kit to charge up cameras, laptops and so on.

I wonder what this means:
Sherpa 50 Power Pack is equivalent to 30,000 AA batteries.
Is that on ONE 10 hour SUN charge or over the life time of the charger. Either way...30,000 AA batteries cost a lot more than $499.00

| I have a PowerFilm charger, which is a whole lot less expensive than the one you mentioned. It charges AA batteries, and has a USB port so you can charge the batteries, and use that power to charge a phone, or other USB device. I like to take it to the pool in the summer, since my phone sucks down batteries pretty quickly. I just plug the phone into this guy, and let the sun charge things. |

12 volts = 8 AA batteries...
Sooo... at a charge a day, that'd be 102.7 years :)
