Anyone know any decent, reliable, easy to use Free video editing software? I'll be taking a few videos in the upcoming weeks, and I'd like to get my hands on a free editing software if possible. Any help is appreciated!

If you have a Mac iMovie works pretty well. It's not free but not real expensive. Of course if you don't have. Mac then ignore this post.

Doesn't Windows come with something called Movie Maker?
If not you can download it for free. |

You missed the free part lol. It's just to mess around with, I don't want to spend money on software that I'll maybe use 3-4 times a year.

I've been doing videos for a while and never found any decent free program. Microsoft Movie Maker was much too crashy for my patience. :-(
I tried Adobe's trial, but it's just too heavy-weight for my use, and pretty expensive.
I'm currently using VideoPad. It's simple, and suits my needs. About $60.
If you find a decent freeware, I'd appreciate a post back here, I'll set this thread to "watch". Good luck! Editing videos should be more fun than tedious, I say.

You can give this a shot: //www.openmovieeditor.org/
I don't know how well it works, but Hell it's free (open source), so can't hurt to try.
Edit: nevermind... it's Linux only.

yeah so far no luck finding anything on my end either. I was hoping there was something along the lines of GIMP, the free PS type photo editor. The search continues!

Search Results at cNet.com for "Windows" "Video Software" "Free"
I didn't really check out any of the programs individually, but maybe there is something you can use.
If you will only be making a few movies, you can also perform a search for software which is "free to try" and complete everything within the trial period. |
