Hopefully, someone can tell what I have set wrong that makes my D700 change aperture and shutter speed between shots when I set each of them in manual mode. It used to behave as I would expect it to but recently I have found that my exposure is way off. When I rechecked the aperture and shutter speed I found that they changed from shot to shot. It never used to do this and I didn't change anything or put anything else into any kind of auto mode that I am aware of.
It's probably something simple that is buried somewhere in the less than user friendly users manual. I am hoping that someone can save me some time and point me in the right direction. |

Do you currently have it in bracketing mode? The (+/-) symbol should be on top of the display. |

That's a possibility, I'll check. Something like that would take quite awhile to determine simply by looking through the user's manual.
Thanks |

To find out how to turn it on/ off - Look on around page 130 for bracketing information in your manual. |

You are a step ahead of me again. Looking in the manual for bracketing was next. Thanks for the page number.
You couldn't have helped me any more other than to come to Miami to do it for me.
That was exactly the problem and the solution. Thanks a lot! |

Anytime - I had the same issue a while ago on my D300 and figured it was the same thing...silly buttons that you can press makes the camera 'misbehave' sometimes. Cheers! And happy shooting! |

| I have noticed that unless you are looking for it, bracketing can be hard to spot. I've left it in bracketing a few times. |

You guys are making a lot of bracket. Robert, I'm happy to hear that it's not something serious going on, after your earlier shutter button problems with previous cameras.

Hijacking.... -- A question on bracketing exposure...
...would one get the same effect by shooting raw and then under/over exposing by -1 +1 as they would get by bracketing shots -1 +1 ?
Thanks |

yes ... But
bracketing mode will do more than just +/- 1 (like +/- 3/5/9 shots) or -1 -2 -3 etc ...
bracketing will pause in HS mode to tell you when it is done (D3, MMV on other cameras)
