Hi, I just got my camera today! An olypmus C-5060. Now I need to start taking some pictures. The only thing I will be doing with it is shooting jewelry. I am going to make the light tent from this site.

Light Box

I have a few questions.
1: Since I am only shooting jewelry and most likely will be using the camera's super macro mode all the time, does the light tent have to be taht size?

2: Does it have to be that big to diffuse the light better?

3: If I cut the tent to half the size will the light be diffused just as much?

4: If I want a pure white background, will two lights on the outside of the tent and one light on the inside pointing at the background be enough or should I have two lights pointing at the background?

Thanks for the help.

1. Yes it can be smaller.
2. It's more a function of the material you use.
3. Two on the background would probably be better to create a flat light with no gradient but with the small amount of background you'll have in your photos you may be able to use just one. General rule of thumb though is the more light the better.

You may want to go to the DPReview's Oly Talk Forum. That's where the author of the page you referenced hangs out. He may have some tips. The search function is pretty good at that website. Might want to search first and see if your questions have been answered previously.
