If you do a photo shoot and the customer asks for a disc of the shoot how do you handle it? I would asume you would only give your post edited images as opposed to the straight from camera images but what about pricing? Do you watermark all images or not? Do you downsize the image? Once someone has a disc they can now print and post to the web willy nilly. The main reason I ask is because I know photographers give discs of the shoots on occasion but wouldn't that hurt your sales on the prints and future sales if they want more in the future?

Agree all this beforehand.

Only ever give images that you are happy with or worked on. Once you have given them the DVD then yes, they can and probably will print out willy nilly. Personally I don`t do individual print sales as I cant be doing with the micro management involved. However I generally shoot weddings and dangle the offer of a free DVD of all the shots in front of them as a sweetener - I price the DVD on my website for three hundred pounds (about $500) but generally dont expect to sell any - but they think they are getting a product worth £300 for free - they end up booking, everyones a winner!
