I think vanitas would make a great challenge.

It would encourage people to experiment with setting up a still and creating a balanced composition and work with lighting. Also I would suggest that this be advanced editing so texture overlay can be used.

Texture overlay is not legal in advanced editing... Would have to expert editing, or a special rule for that challenge.

The rules can be decided by whomever is in charge of challenges. It would make for some interesting photos...keep in mind that the photographer could look back to paintings and/or put a modern day twist on it.

Just a thought.

I think some modern day twists might fetch up some fine fish.

(although as an in camera triple exposure it would be illegal).

Your image is really neat looking! Without a doubt if they decide to choose this topic I feel like some very interesting art can be created. There are some elements that are connected with vanitas like skulls, and bubbles. So people could really have fun with this topic.

Sounds like a great challenge to me (I hope that's not the kiss of death).
