QUANTUM

For professional use, never leave home without a battery pack. Sling it over your shoulder and never worry about running out of juice. Thought I'd pass it on....no one here really discusses the necessity of a battery pack for long shoots. I have one, they can run your camera, your flash, or both, depending on the model you want and the cash you want to spend to get it :-)

P.S. you don't want anything less than the QB1+ or the recycling time gets too high

The bigger problem is storage, as digital gets "bigger" then storage now needs to do a catch up...

I have the same camera as yourself, and only shoot in raw as it allows me far more leeway if I get the content right, but the exposure wrong.

So with a 1 gig card, we're only talking about 150ish shots....

The battery will last at least 400+ depending on settings, flash, etc.

That said, I have two so I could in theory get 800+ shots, but only if I bring my laptop with me, lol.

The limiting factor disk wise has however made me far more "fussy" and I probably delete more in camera now than I used to... Before I would keep everything, good and bad, and then decide wich were keepers and which to ignore once I hit the PC; I also take more time (where applicable) to compose a shot where as before I would shoot 4-5 shots of almost the same thing with different settings and minor time and position adjustments... Digital does allow you to have no waistage "cost" except for time.
