....light meter. Starting to work with portraits and I'm going through too much trial and error.

Anyone have one they want to sell?

I've seen quality ones up on craigslist periodically, so that might be worth checking into. I've seen them there much more often than on here, at any rate.

You could post a WTB in the Buy/Sell section, of course that would require you to buy a monthly membership.

If you have Einsteins (or even ABs) their Cyber Commander incorporates a light meter (and it triggers your lights). It is not the simplest UI around, but is also able to control your light settings remotely (with Einsteins especically).

I have both the CC and a Sekonic L358. I use the sekonic for metering. If you use pocket wizard triggers already, or plan to, there is a PW module that will install into the 358 so it will act as a trigger when metering.

If you look up Mark Wallace/Adorama videos on YouTube, he has a video on using light meters that might be helpful to you.
