Welcome to this week's "Member of the Week" post. Every week I will post the name of a member and a link to their profile. This will be our Member of the Week. Go have a look at their profile page and/or portfolio. Enjoy their photos, leave some comments and most of all post one or two of their photos in this thread so others can see them and enjoy them. If you like you can also write a little blurb saying why you enjoy this member's photos.
This week's Member of the Week is dtremain. And here are a couple of his photos.

Thanks for the honor. Thought I'd post a bit more about myself for those who are interested (the rest of you, just ignore this message and go look at the pretty pictures...)
I am happily married to the most wonderful women in the world - Cindy - for 23 years.
We have three children - two boys and a girl, ranging in age from 21 to 17. The two younger children have autism (1 boy & 1 girl), which has presented a number of significant challenges through the years, but also many joys. Just tonight, Matthew heard me coming up stairs and brought me a toilet plunger (used to unclog...well, you get the picture). Now that's communication!
I have worked in the field of Information Technology for over 30 years - started at Seattle Pacific University (College at the time) in 1976, and am currently working at OmniSource here in Fort Wayne, Indiana. So, if you will, a Classic Geek.
I was interested in "taking pictures" fairly early on, but photography really caught my attention while in college in the late 70's when my college roommate bought a SLR camera. I bought my first SLR - a Canon AE-1 shortly afterwards. After graduating from college, I worked for a while at a non-profit Christian mission organization, and became friends with one of their media gurus, who did a great deal to help me.
A photographic outing with my boss, his wife, and Cindy helped get us together (she discovered that I could actually have fun!).
My first foray into digital photography was Christmas 2003, with a Fuji pro-sumer camera, and after a few different models, and joining DPC, I finally got a true DSLR - my Canon T1i.
I enjoy shooting, and dpchallenge has really encouraged me to expand beyond "capturing what is there" to trying to see things artistically. There is a great group of folks here at dpchallenge. |

Yes, sfalice I am truly blessed. The contraption my wife is riding was built by a neighbor for his "summer camp" for their grandchildren. Cindy really wanted to ride it, and finally got up the courage to do it. I couldn't resist taking her picture...
In the shot, the cart has just been released. The ramp was build on a standard pick-up truck, with the part from the back of the cab to the front of the truck on a hinge so it could be level to let people get in, then winched up to the full angle before the cart was released.
Life is too short to not have some fun now and then. They even rigged the cart with battery-powered Christmas tree lights, so they could see it better at night!
