I just got a quote on a repair for my Canon 28-135mm of $88.95. Way cheaper than Canon. So has anyone used them? This seems like such a great deal.

Well, I've never tried them, but I suppose that even if they botch the repair you could always send it in to Canon later...

Aside from that, there's no good reason why they shouldn't be able to do the job, after all I just got done removing the sensor from my G9 and cleaning it, and I'm certainly no expert at these things...

LOL! The reason I asked is I checked a review site and find very mixed reviews. Some people claim to have had great service, fast turn around, etc. Others claim that service took months, no communication, etc. So I just wanted to see if anyone here had personal experience with them. I'm going to give it a go either way I guess though.

So, I shipped the lens priority mail USPS on March 23rd from NJ to CT. It took 7 days to arrive there. Wow! That's some slow driving. Went in for repair the 29th, repair finished 31st! Yay! Just waiting for them to ship it back now.

What was wrong with the lens? That is some slow shipping...wow. I never use the Postal Service for anything except letters. They don't seem care if you spend more to ship things faster. It gets there when they say it gets there. LOL.

My granddaughter kind of slammed it on a hardwood floor by snagging the camera strap and pulling it off a server/table. Though I can laugh about it now (sort of), I was about in tears when she did it. It wouldn't zoom past 70mm, and wouldn't auto focus. I tried using the manual focus ring and a something fell down in the middle so you couldn't see through the lens (aperture ring? I don't know anything about the internals of a lens).

Ouch!! That hurts! I hope all is well when you receive it back. Let us know how it went.

Received it back UPS today. All's good! What they have listed as fixed is... "Repaired lens zoom guide, did auto focus test, recalibration and realignment, general test, clean and repair all functions and systems". I'm just happy my lens is working again for under a hundred bucks.
