A very interesting series of photos, taken in the Black Hills around 1890. Indians, cavalry, mines, cattle, sheep, railroad trains, you name it, this guy shot it. |

Yes, very cool indeed. I've always been enamored with photos of the old West, not quite out of a nostalgia but at the very different demeanor of the people and scenes depicted. The feeling of them all is very different from anything that came later, a resoluteness and matter-of-factness to the postures of people and the settings as a whole. It's a very romanticized era, for me. |
