That is an amazing statistic telling a lot about today's society. |
In truth, probably not, as there's little to be said, perhaps a reproachful look, but no, I doubt I'd say anything... At least to the laughing hyenas.. I would however be likely to go talk to the girl and offer to buy her a drink or something of that nature, as I see a possibility of making some difference there, whereas my effort on the fools would be wasted. |
Point is you see where I am coming from. You see that people now adays are as you said... "laughing hyenas."
And as for the two quotes given by scarbrd, wow! With all of this ranting going on I figured not much has changed but just in the last few years I have seen change. And that may be just my age group. (I am 20 years old) I hope the people I speak of being idiots change... and change fast because its getting old!
vawendy - Thanks for listening to me as well. My rant is not like most here (that I have seen) and has nothing to do with anything other than my frustration (sorta greedy but I figured it needed to be said). This is a major venting thing and it has helped relieve a little bit of tension. I agreed with everything you told me; however, I still see more bad than good in the people surrounding me. And as I said above.. I hope this changes! Which right now, I don't see it happening any time soon.

I hope I don't come off as condescending because I think we ask a lot of our youngest adults. They're the ones that fight the wars because older people can't work things out.
A lot of things look out of whack to a conscientious 20 year old. With time you will learn to separate the good from the bad. There are rude, bitter, and downright mean people of all ages and all walks of life. The key is to not let the idiots get you down and to surround yourself with people you respect and admire.
Random acts of kindness go a long way to balance out the not so random acts of cruelty. |

There are not many of these people. Yes I know of some so it isn't like I am sitting here saying ALL PEOPLE ARE BAD NO ONE IS GOOD blah blah blah... I am just saying it is hard to find people with morals and respect for others.

I plan on being the old guy in a kids neighborhood that sits on his porch yelling at kids if they come close to my grass! :D I see that being pretty fun! |
If you treat those kids right... who knows they might get to like the ole fella and offer to cut his grass for him.
Just a thought,

Or if you anger them enough, they might just occasionally fire bomb the yard for free, leaving you with extra money for Depends. |

yep that's the problem. I get thoroughly pissed off at society too. There are people who ruin my day EVERY day. The difference is that I sometimes do think of horrid things I would like to do to them. The only difference between me and the serial killer is that I don't act on my thoughts. I simply find it therapeutic to imagine ways to punish them for being inconsiderate rude jackasses. |

If 1% of the populace consists of folks I can admire and respect, I can put up with the remainder.
