Here's a picture I captured from the top of the slide in the playground next door. It is the storm clouds coming in covering up the sun. I wanna know what I "should" have done to avoid the light flares and darkness I got in it. I brightened it a bit in photoshop.

I happen to like light flares. They can enhance images. What you might want to try is some dodging/burning to bring out more contrast in the clouds and make the image more dramatic.

The flare will look better of you can increase the contrast to bring out the sun rays. I primarily use Curves in Photoshop for that; dodging and burning are effective but much harder to do well. I would mess with it until it looked good, with relatively little regard for whether that's how it "actually looked" at the time ... |

What size of picture is it? It was taking forever to load for me.

Yeah guys I'm sorry for the loading length. The server is extremely so today so even if you're on cable the transfer is probably going to be slower. Thanks for you patients and comments. :) |
