im looking at upgrading my camera to the t2i.
should get the body only and get a lens like this instead.
//www.amazon.com/Sigma-18-250mm-3-5-6-3-Canon-Digital/dp/B001PGXEH4/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1297085639&sr=8-8
or stick with the 18-55 kit lens? i have the same lens on my rebel xs.
also in fact let me add, i am an amateur photographer and the one thing i learned over the last year is i hate, hate, changing lenses. I have a 55-250 and 50 f1.8. The 50 f.8 pretty much stays on all the time, but i need a good walking around lens wider than the 50mm.
i am going to sell the rebel with the kit lens and i may include the 55-250 and just buy the t2i with a better all encompassing lens, so post recommendations if you have them... im thinking 18-200 is a good range for me.

A lot of people are going to tell you that the image quality of a lens like Sigma 18-200mm isn't the best, but I like mine for the convenience of going out with one lens. Just make sure you get a stabilised lens.

yeah, the reviews on amazon seem all over the place, which is why I'm hoping for some help here.
although i'm normally budget minded, i don't think I'd be opposed to dropping $500 on a lens if eliminates the need to carry both, but its needs to add some quality. |
