I entered the first pic in the extraordinary challenge. I am amazed that it did as well as it did.

Anyway, one of the suggestions I got was that there should be more colour. So I adjusted the colour levels to get the second pic.

Was wondering if the 'natural' or added colours make a better picture.

Thanks,

Mel.

I'd go somewhere in between the two. I like the more natural look of the first one with the nice smooth texture, but I also like the exaggerated color in the 2nd shot. But the 2nd shot has more noise in it. So I'd go with something in between the two and then use NeatImage if needed for noise. The 2nd image does need it, but not the 1st as they are now.

Really nice!

The second one seems a bit oversharpened too - not a lot, but particularly when comparing the two. That could account for the extra noise. But I agree, the colors a nicer on the second.

I kinda like the color of the 2nd image. I agree with the others, however, that you've oversharpened it. The water almost looks like solid/rocky ground. And the clouds down to the right have too much "edge" to them. Try it again but without any extra sharpening and see what you get...

Thankyou very much for the advice.

I have tried to redo the colouring without making it look sharper (as I did not sharpen it myself). Had to crop the front water out as I could not get it to look smooth.

Here it is,

I like them all, and the first one is the best in my opinion. Good job!

Yes! I think #3 is the best yet. The tighter cropping adds more emphasis and you've effectively removed the bits that made it feel "unreal" in #2. Great job!
