I've been doing almost nothing with my Photoshop CS5.
So I'm thinking that this would be a good time to actually start learning how to do something. Skies are blah, everything is brown, it refuses to snow, so I am making the 90 minute journey to the nearest Border's books tomorrow. So while I am in the big city, I thought I might celebrate and go whole hog and buy me a book.
Anyone have suggestions on one they particularly like, or at least one to stay away from?

Can't suggest a book but Photoshop Mama has excellent video tutorials on portrait retouching. You Tube her name and plenty will come up. Excellent resource.
ETA and it's Free!!

I use CS3 (to broke to upgrade) and bought this when CS3 first came out- Adobe PhotoShop for Photographers. Obviously updated for the new version of photoshop. Was a good read- pricey, but nice. Doesn't teach anything incredibly unique or artistic, but overly covers fundamentals and very useful techniques. Worth a look at least. |
