I uploaded this photo as an entry in the "Advertisement Revisited" challenge, but before the system finished accepting the entry it changed over and my entry wasn't in the challenge. I didn't get a chance to work on my idea until after work this evening, and was rushed as usual.

Anybody care to give me a vote and/or comment? :(

Okay, you asked. I would probably give it a 6. It's a great shot and a good subject choice for this site. IMO, it's lacking some crispness. Could be my eyes tonight, though. It has been a long day. :)

Yeah, my first response was "eh". I probably would have given it a 5.

Not bad! At least a 6 from this keyboard.

It's funny, nobody seemed to like my photo very much, but I think it's much better than the photo that the company actually uses to advertise their product...

I spent too much time shooting and didn't have time to even pick the best shot out of the several that I took. I just grabbed the first one, cropped it, then uploaded it.

What about this one? Better? Worse? Don't quit yer day job moron!

The black one is better but I think I would give it 4 or 5 because it need something interesting. It is just photo of an flash on a black background and that does not work as an Ad.

And I don't want to be rude but this is not much better then the ad from the company. It is just very simular.

I ran it through NeatImage to smooth out the noise and sharpen it a bit. I think the red one looks a little better too, although the background is still too plain. I wanted to photograph it against an interesting and colorful background (maybe a space nebula), but just didn't have the time.

Good luck with your entry!

My guess is that they had a very limited advertising/marketing budget. I sent them an email with suggestions to improve their web site by adding more and better photos of their products, etc., and I got a very nice reply from Natalina Nanni, their VP of marketing. She thanked me for the suggestions and informed me that they are currently working on improvements to the web site, including all of my suggestions. I was very pleased and impressed that my email got such a response.

Thank you for your comments on my photo. I appreciate it.

Thanks for the vote!

The light works very well. With the softbox attached it puts out a very even, soft light that is really nice. Of course it would have been nice to have three lights so I use two to photograph the one. :)
