Curious about what others think of this.
Thanks!

I like the photo, although I have not gotten into Selective De-saturation myself yet, it just hasn't appealed to me yet. But I think that phot is really nice.

I just tried it this past week for the first time, and here are my two tries at it.
Interesting that we both chose yellow. I do really like the second one. |

You guys, those are awesome! I love me those selective desat photos so I'm very excited.
Wackybill- that is such a cool pic- you can see the bee and everything, SO cool- I like how it's not the one in the center too, it's kinda off to the side a bit. Awesome awesome!
Skief- Those are both really cool- i like the first one a lot- the only thing I'd do is not colorized the hydrant- otherwise it's perfect
Great job you two!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tips on Selective Desaturation
Your photo choice is perfect wackybill! That's exactly the type of photo where selective desaturation shines.
I like your shots skief, but not sure if they work that well for selective desaturation. You're bringing attention to things that don't really need attention. In fact they take away from the real stars of your photos (the kids!)
That puddle shot is superb, I'd like to see it full color or b&w personally. |

Here's the full color picture.
I did look at it totally in b&w, but I really liked the way the raincoat comes out.
Lizzy, the hydrant was yellow, I didn't colorize it, or were you meaning to desaturate it as well?
Jadin, is this a better choice?

Those are pretty good. What makes a good b/w is the contrast in the photo. Sometimes that is hard to achieve because of blown out white areas in the photo.
Also remember to use the rule of thirds when composing your picture.
