I was going to enter some version of the image above in "Purple" but couldn't get the colors correct. The handles of the scissors are purple (though not as deep as the flower.)
I took this under several settings (auto white balance, sunlight, etc.) and could not manage to keep the plastic from shifting to light blue. I tried several other things (fill flash, underexposing, etc.) and couldn't figure out how (or why) the scissors looked "wrong."
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It's probably just the nature of the ccd. Many cameras will have problems replicating the violet spectrum that our eyes percieve and often shift them towards the blue. Nothing a little Photoshop can't fix. In my experiments with photographing subjects under a black light, the objects reflecting UV would appear blue. Hope this helps. |

Thanks much. I was working on the photoshop problem and the fireworks interupted.
