I was wondering how challenges get chosen. Not that I am complaining... well maybe just a tad... but I was wondering how it all got decided. I have seen a lot of suggestions in the numerous months I have been here & have yet to see one challenge suggestion result in an actually challenge. I am sure that suggestions get used & all, not trying to imply that they don;t, but was wondering if there was a huge back log or something. The enxt two challenges aer revisted ones & am wondering why that is. Are the admins the only ones that choose or are there other people? Is it random?
Anyone got clues? SC-ers?

I think they should take the members suggestions and twice a month add a poll on the main page so members can vote on a couple of topics for each month.

I'd be reluctant to vote for a difficult challenge. I'd rather be forced into accepting a tough challenge than avoid it by voting it down.

cool idea! we havent had a poll since we voted on advance editing rules for members challenges! I LIKE IT!

The SC puts them into a list, then the admins choose the challenges. Thats what I've read in previous threads...

I'm very surprised to hear you say that you've "yet to see one challenge suggestion result in an actually challenge." Almost all challenges are from users.

Looking at the most recent challenges:

"Advertisement Revisited" was suggested by Wes in this post and by chiqui74 in this post.

"Freedom II" was suggested by ClubJuggle in this post.

"Newspaper" was suggested by ellamay in this post.

"Selective Desaturation" was suggested by TooCool in this post.

"Planes, Trains & Automobiles" was suggested by Are_62 in this post.

"Waiting" was suggested by heida in this post.

etc.

For more information on how the challenges are picked, see my post in this thread. In short, they are added to the challenge database, D&L approve the challenges, then they schedule them from those that they have approved. D&L are the only ones who actually pick which challenges will occur and when.
